Since the inaugural launch of Sails at Bayside in November 2006 we have seen significant progress in building this loving outreach to the community. St Paul's church and St Peter's church have worked together to foster the growth of this outreach while setting a framework to move forward within the vision statement set out below. During 2007 Waterloo Bay Parish have supported us on the Management team and sailing days. Recently Cleveland Parish supported us on sailing days.
Vision Statement
Empowered young people through Sailing and Life Skills.
Mission Statement
To provide Christ-centred mentoring support particularly for at risk, abused, disadvantaged Youth and Families.
Mission
a. SAILS at Bayside as a Mission Shaped Church Community shares the love of Christ through ministering to the hurting, the disenfranchised and providing resources to build up the Body of Christ.
b. Working collaboratively with Churches, Peak Bodies, Community Agencies, City Councils and Department of Communities.
c. SAILS at Bayside Ministry will mentor youth in crisis, at risk from drugs, abuse, disadvantaged Youth, Families and those at risk from suicide and depression.
d. SAILS at Bayside will also outreach to the wider community, parishes and youth groups. .
In our community there are some whose futures are under threat from a variety of problems such as: drugs, alcohol, mental, emotional, physical abuse, sexual abuse and social relationship dysfunction. Any of these issues can lead to depression and suicide. Through this community based sailing programme we will engage those most at risk who are not connecting with traditional activities and offer a proven easily accessible programmes to counsellors and others for their clients.
By modeling a vision of self -worth through SAILS at Bayside's program, our planned hard working team of highly trained volunteers will provide crucial care and mentoring so desperately missing in the lives of many young people.

Sails on the Gold Coast has immeasurably supported us with bringing boats and qualified instructors to our sailing days, offering information from their eighteen years of experience in this outreach and many other kind gestures. We basically have very similar objectives so we were pleased to see the expansion of SAILS Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast making this fine Anglican outreach extend from the Gold Coast to Sails at Bayside in Wynnum/Manly/Waterloo Bay and up to the Sunshine Coast.
This year will see steep growth in this outreach as many more become qualified, the Sails at Bayside Coordinator expands the community network/awareness and procurement of more operating equipment all driven by a passion for the love of our fellow person as demonstrated by our Lord.
